Meet Our Family

Katie Underwood

Katie Underwood joined our practice in January of 2016. She graduated from Jackson County Comprehensive High School in 2012. She currently resides in Pendergrass with her husband Zac and their two children Emma Kate and Lane. She enjoys horseback riding, spending time with family and friends.

Sarah Beth Todd

Sarah Beth has been a part of our practice since 2012. She has been in dentistry since 2007. She was a dental assistant for 2 years before entering dental hygiene school. She graduated from Athens Tech Dental Hygiene program in 2012. Sarah Beth is a native to Jefferson, and resides there with her husband Colby, son, Gavin, and German shepherd, Jenny. She loves being outdoors and spending time with her family.

Jamie Anderson

Jamie joined our practice in December of 2018. She graduated from Lanier Tech Dental Hygiene program in 2008. She also earned a degree from Academy of Beauty Cosmetology School in 2002. Jamie currently resides in Maysville with her husband Joe, daughter, Emma, and son, Colby. In her spare time she loves going on adventures with her family.

Kelly Richardson

Kelly joined Hometown Family Dentistry in December 2019.  She graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 2007  with a Dental Hygiene Degree.   She currently lives in Jefferson with her husband Brian and stepdaughter Brooke. Kelly loves Georgia football, animals, being on the water and making memories with her family.

Shelly Sowell

Shelly has been part of our practice since 2018. She has been in dentistry since 1995. Shelly graduated in 1999 from UNG and Lanier Tech with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene. Shelly and her husband Pat have four boys- Devin, Grayson, Patrick, and Blake. In her spare time she enjoys the beach, traveling, and spending time with her family, dogs and friends. Shelly enjoys making people smile.

Baylee Germaine

Baylee joined HFD in October of 2021. She graduated from Lanier Tech Dental Hygiene program in 2020. Baylee grew up in Gwinnett county and moved to Jefferson a few years ago to be closer to family. She now lives with her husband, Zak and their dog. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and traveling.

Elizabeth Hansen

Elizabeth (Liz) joined HFD in May of 2023 after graduating from Lanier Technical College’s Dental Hygiene program. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her dogs. She currently lives in Madison, GA with her husband, Austin, their two golden retrievers, Lumos & Albus, and are expecting their first child in January of 2024.

Misty Callahan

Misty joined the HFD family in November 2023 bringing 27 years of dental hygiene experience to care for our patients. She graduated with a dental hygiene degree from the University of North Georgia and Lanier Technical Institute in 1997 with honors. Misty is a very skilled clinician creating a pleasant, comfortable experience improving your oral and overall health. She loves to see you smile! She resides in Carnesville with her husband , Randy and 3 children, Hannah, Kinsey, and Jace. She loves reading, creating memories with her family and friends, camping, cow farming, and attending church.

Amanda Frazier

Amanda Frazier started with Hometown Family Dentistry in 2018 as an intern during her final months of the Dental Assisting Program at Lanier Technical College. She is the best intern that we have ever had. We loved her so much…that we did not let her go! She has become an immediate integral part of the Hometown Family team. She lives in Commerce with her significant other, Spencer, and her two children Blake and Elissa, as well as three cats. She enjoys spending time with her family and reading/writing when time permits.

Brittany McMillan

Brittany joined the HFD family in March of 2022. She became a certified dental assistant in 2012. Brittany originates and resides in Royston GA. She has been married for 13 years to her Veteran husband Josh McMillan and they have three children, Melanie, Aria, & Lincoln. In her spare time Brittany likes to take pictures, read books, and improve her boxing skills.

Caitlyn Henderson

Caitlyn joined the Hometown Family Dentistry team in October of 2021. She graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant in March of 2021. She is originally from Glendale, Arizona, but currently resides in Commerce with her husband Bryson, and their 3 children, Jackson, Lakelyn, and AJ. In her spare time she loves to paint, read, and spend time with her babies!

Ashley Mitchell

Ashley joined the HFD family in February of 2022. She graduated from a certified dental assisting school in November 2020. She has done some assisting but prefers to work at the front desk. She resides in Talmo with her husband Mack and dog Maggie. She enjoys being at the ball field and watching the braves.

Rachel Wilder

Rachel joined the Hometown Family Dentistry family in July of 2023. She graduated from her dental assisting course in 2020 and has received her associate in health science from Georgia State University in 2021. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, AJ.
